Operculum is commissioned by Transmoderna an intersection between electronical music and art. Heleen worked together with Thijs to co create a mesmerizing kinetic installation that transforms light and motion into an entrancing visual experience, to feature as a centrepiece in the Ibiza based nightclub Pasha.

At its heart lies a liquid moving mirror, an ever-shifting surface that captures and reflects beams of light, creating dynamic patterns and ephemeral visuals that captivate the viewer. Studio Thijs Rijkers crafted the intricate mechanical design  driving the sculpture’s movement. The precise engineering behind the installation enables the mirror to flow with an almost organic grace, seamlessly blending artistry with technology.

Through its interplay of light, motion, and reflection, Operculum explores themes of fluidity and transformation, inviting viewers to lose themselves in its hypnotic rhythms. This piece stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and Thijs Rijkers’ ability to fuse mechanical ingenuity with artistic beauty.
